Sherry Strayer writes from a place of truth and reflection. She shares her story not to assign blame but to understand how her life unfolded. Her writing begins with her mother’s marriages, the family’s constant moves through small Kansas towns, and the early events that shaped her view of love, struggle, and self-worth.

Born in Clayton, Kansas, in 1956, Sherry grew up beside her younger sister Shan, who became her closest companion. Her father worked as a bricklayer, helping build many of Norton’s local structures, including the church that would later hold deep meaning for her.

Life was not easy, and a childhood accident left her both physically scarred and emotionally aware of life’s fragility.

In Moments Rushing By, Sherry draws on these experiences to tell a story of survival, motherhood, and faith. Her voice is open, steady, and brave, revealing a journey through pain toward understanding and forgiveness. Today, her work stands as a message of endurance and a reminder that every story—no matter how difficult—can lead toward healing.
